A visionary and execution-focused Technology Director to spearhead strategic digital transformation initiatives for large-scale enterprise clients across the region. As a key member of the management team at GBM Oman, you will oversee the adoption of next-generation technologies from global leaders in Software, infrastructure and cyber security vendors. This role demands a blend of strategic foresight, operational excellence, and technical acumen to shape and deliver transformative technology outcomes that support our clients' business objectives and fuel GBM’s continued growth.
Job Description
Strategic Direction & Vision:
- Define and manage the organization’s Technology division in alignment with corporate vision and customer transformation objectives.
- Translate market trends and client needs into actionable strategies and innovative service offerings.
Technology Management & Innovation:
- Oversee the design, delivery, and governance of robust, scalable, and secure technology architectures, including business applications, data management, hybrid cloud, AI, automation, cybersecurity, and networking.
- Manage the adoption of cutting-edge platforms and solutions from IBM, Cisco, and other Tier-1 technology partners to create differentiated customer value.
Digital Transformation Management:
- Initiate, manage and drive digital transformation initiatives for enterprise customers across diverse industries, leveraging latest technologies in business applications, AI, automation, cloud-native architectures, and data-driven insights.
- Act as a digital transformation advisor for key clients.
- Establish and optimize digital operating models that accelerate time-to-value and improve technology ROI.
People Management & Development:
- Manage, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and domain consultants, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Promote a high-performance culture with a commitment to continuous learning, accountability and customer-centricity.
Stakeholder & Partner Management:
- Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with strategic customers, vendors (e.g., IBM, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc), and ecosystem partners.
- Manage Certification programs with vendors.
- Represent GBM in industry forums, strategic alliances, and customer advisory boards.
Operational Oversight & Project Governance:
- Provide executive oversight for key Technology engagements and transformation programs ensuring quality, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Define and track KPIs, ensuring consistent performance across delivery teams and practices.
Financial & Resource Optimization:
- Manage multi-million-dollar business targets and ensure optimal resource allocation to maximize profitability and customer impact.
- Drive operational efficiencies through automation, cloud utilization, and lean program management.
Growth & Business Enablement:
- Act as a technology evangelist to identify new revenue streams, shape go-to-market strategies and co-develop joint value propositions with alliance partners.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and business unit heads to drive demand generation and strategic account growth.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise technology delivery, including at least 5 years in a management role within a services provider or consulting environment.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale digital transformation programs for regional enterprise customers.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following domains: Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data Platforms, AI & Automation, Networking & Edge.
- Established relationships with technology alliance partners such as IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, or major cybersecurity providers.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing technology teams across multiple geographies or business units.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or Executive Education is a plus.
- Expertise in Omani Market is preferable.
